Well and Sick Waiting Room
Keeping your child healthy is Kiddox’s number one goal. With this in mind, we have added an additional waiting room to help separate your healthy and sick children. This is especially important for your newborn and during cold and flu season.
Prenatal Meetings for Expectant Parents
If you’re undecided or just want to meet with us, we’d love to meet you. Stop in any Wednesday morning to meet with Dr. Bourne . Please note that from time-to-time a prior obligation may conflict with Wednesday morning prenatal meetings, so an RSVP is encouraged. If the Wednesday you select is not available one of our staff will notify you and help you reschedule.
Flu shots and FluMist is now available for children and caregivers. The 2011 flu vaccine includes the H1N1 strain—two different flu shots won’t be necessary this year as it was in 2009. However, some children will still require two doses of this year’s vaccine (separated by at least four weeks). Please call Kiddox as soon as possible to make an appointment for your flu vaccine.
2011 Pertussis Vaccine Requirement
As a result of an increased number of reported pertussis cases in 2010, Assembly Bill 354 becomes law. The California Department of Public Health recommends that all Californians 10 years and older receive a booster shot against pertussis. For the 2011-2012 school year, all students entering 7th through 12th grades will need proof of a Tdap booster before entering school. Additionally, caregivers should also make sure they are up-to-date with the pertussis vaccine.
